DIGICEL CONNECTS THE SAMOA PARALYMPICS TEAM TO THE ARAFURA GAMES, DARWIN.

 

May 8, 2007 Apia, SAMOA: The Samoa Paralympics Team trip to the Arafura Games in Darwin Australia from May 12-19 is kindly sponsored by Digicel Samoa.  Digicel has contributed $15,000 (SAT) to fund Samoa’s delegation to the games, together with a traveling uniform. 

 

The Arafura Games is the Oceania qualifying games for the International Paralympics Games held in Beijing in 2008.

 

Mose Faatamala and Mapu Eseese will represent Samoa at these upcoming Games. Both athletes have competed for Samoa in past Paralympics and Fespic Games. Mapu Eseese won Gold and a bronze medal at the Fespic Games in Japan and Beijing respectively.

 

“The Samoa Paralympics Committee are indeed thankful for the support Digicel has given us, we are a small organisation with a big cause.  Our hope is to have Samoa represented at the Arafura Games as it is the qualifiers for Beijing next year, and Digicel have come on board to help us achieve that”, says a very pleased Misi Tuala, President of the Samoa Paralympics Committee.
