December 4, 2006, Apia, Samoa: Digicel brings to Samoa new, fun and innovative ways to stay connected with friends and family, with a new service, ‘Call Me’.

 

‘Call Me’ allows Digicel prepaid customers to send a free text message to their friends or family when they have less than $0.20 sene credit. 

 

Digicel Pacific CEO, Ms. Vanessa Slowey said, “We’re delighted to be launching this new and innovative service in Samoa. ‘Call Me’ is perfect for our Prepaid customers that may find themselves in a spot of trouble and have no credit on their phone. It’s a service we see will be very well-used during one of the busiest time of the year.”

 

And with 90% population coverage for Samoa, Digicel is confident its ‘Call Me’ service will help its customers stay mobile and connected wherever they are.

5.      that person receives the “Call Me” text, and rings the person back.

 

Each prepaid customer can send fourteen free ‘Call Me’ texts per week on their Digicel mobile.

 

A similar Digicel service was launched in Jamaica in October 2006, and over 1-million phone transactions were recorded in that month.  Over the next few weeks, Digicel will introduce other international ‘firsts’ to Samoa.
