December 21, 2006, Apia, Samoa:  Digicel, today introduced an innovative addition to its products and services portfolio with a service called CreditMe/CreditU.

 

Using Digicel’s dynamic handset-based method, CreditMe/CreditU offers a convenient and secure way of transferring phone credit to family and friends who are already on the Digicel network. This is the first time that this service will be available in Samoa...

 

Digicel Pacific General Manager, Ms. Vanessa Slowey said “CreditMe/CreditU is an innovative service, which provides our prepaid customers the convenience of receiving credit quickly when they are running low and need to place an urgent phone call”.  “Customers need to be able to top up any time so they can stay mobile and we are delighted to be in a position to once again provide value to our clients”, added Ms. Slowey.

 

CreditMe/CreditU, which is the first of many Top Up methods Digicel will be introducing over the coming months, is simple to use.  Prepaid customers can send a CreditMe request by dialing: *127*Digicel Number*Amount Requested#Send.  To top up a friends prepaid account with CreditU, Digicel customers simply dial *128*Digicel Prepaid Number*Amount to be Transferred#Send.  The recipients prepaid account is then topped up by the amount transferred.

 

Prepaid customers can send up to seven free CreditMe messages per week, when their credit balance is less than $5.00.  In addition to the amount transferred, customers are charged a $0.10 service fee per CreditU request.
